OriginalsAfter writing the original four formal papers, a few things crossed my mind. For the first paper on division analysis, I was a little hesitant to turn it in. I wasn't positive if I had written about what I was supposed to talk about. However, when I got the peer evaluation back, I was a little bit more confident because they said that it was written well and made sense.
For the second paper we wrote, I wrote about the freshman fifteen and how to help prevent it. I thought I did a decent job writing it but the grade I received was not was I was expecting. I realized that I had not really shown a decent solution to the issue. For the third paper we had to write, we had to try and persuade that what had happened to Jane Asher was, in fact, sexual harassment. It was somewhat difficult to do because, personally, I'm not very good at writing in order to persuade someone. However, I learned how to use my words in a way that helps to motivate someone to think one way or the other. The fourth paper was a definition essay. We had to choose from a list of words and define it not only in terms of a dictionary but by our own personal definition. I had a lot of fun writing this essay because success is a term that really appeals to me. I like how it has multiple meanings depending on who you ask. It was interesting to write about what I thought about the meaning of success but to also write about what others think. |
RevisionsIt was difficult for me to choose which three papers I wanted to correct. I knew that I was going to revise the first and the fourth because those were the ones that I got the best marks on.
However, deciding between the second and third paper was little more difficult. The second paper was fun to write because of the realness about it. The freshman fifteen was something I was really worried about coming into college so it was interesting to figure out different facts about it. The third paper was also fun to write because it challenged me to write in a different way than I was used to. To try to persuade someone to think one way was a lot more difficult than I ever thought it would be. But after reading all the comments from the peer review and from Dr. Burke, I decided to correct the third paper. The reason for this is because I thought that I could learn the most from revising that essay. |
